I am changing the engine in my v6 gal.

the replacement has come out of a 1998 golf vr6 it is the aaa code, and was out of a manual.

it is going into an auto, can anyone help with what needs to be changed.

I am presuming flywheel, but not sure about sensor and stuff.

all help is very much appreciated

I think that the flywheel is about it, but other (older) engines I have come across have had different cranks, cams, carbs, ignition etc. on the auto version but I'd be surprised if that were the case any more. If the torque converter fits onto the end of the crank then I think you're in business!

finally started the job, 4hrs seen the driveshafts off, air pump thing off, most plugs and pipes off, just the exhaust, and remaining pipes and she'll be out (i hope), wasted nearly 2 hours trying to get the front wheels off, someone has over tightend the nuts and i cant budge them, so had to split balljoints with wheels on!

hopefully tomorrow will be more productive.
